Become a Facebook Super Star Part 3 of 3Over the last couple of days, we’ve discussed setting up your Facebook account and the content you should post on your walls. Today we will go over how to grow your Facebook Network. All your great content will be for not if you have no one to read it.

Step 4 – The first thing you can do is to put out tons of great content. Comment on your friends posts and be helpful or encouraging. Make sure your bring them value. It is a good idea not to be the first person to make a comment. Every time you make a comment to a post everyone before you will get a notice about it. By waiting a bit you will be visible to more people at once. It is also a good idea to make a comment to another specific comment. Make sure you name who you are commenting about. It will help draw attention to your self and make people feel good that they was noticed. If you bring value to them they will be inclined to visit your Facebook profile or page and become your friend or follower.

It is also good to go to other Facebook Pages that you have followed and do the same thing. Make sure you are using Facebook as the correct entity when you do that. You should be using Facebook as your page when visiting other pages instead of your profile if you are trying to grow your Facebook Fan Page. You can find the tab to switch profiles on the right column of your page or in the drop down menu on the top right of your page. Using this technique you never want to be argumentative or controversial. Always be likable and bring value to the post feed. You do not want to be spamming other pages with your network marketing products or company either. It is a good way to get unfriended or blocked from pages. That being said if you can provide a solution to a problem that is valuable to that person it wouldn’t be bad to send them a message in private. Again don’t be spammy about it. Let them know that you saw they had such and such problem. You may not be interested and that’s ok but this has helped me or my friend out a lot. Let me know what you think.

It is good to do a targeted search for Facebook Pages that you want to follow. For example you can do a search for other network marketers, home based businesses, work from home moms, specific network marketing companies, professionals (realtors, bankers, mortgage brokers, sales people, marketers), or even specific activities such as fitness, collectors, yoga, etc. Look for pages that will be a good fit for you and your company.

Next send out 25 friend request daily to people in your targeted pages. Make sure you send a message with each request. For example, “I totally agree with the comment you made about The Slight Edge on Jeff’s fan page. I see you have a home business. How’s that working for you” or “Hey! I’m Lynn Herman. How are you doing? What do you do for a living?” By always asking a question in your message you are encouraging conversions with them which will build relationship and trust with them. You want to let them know you really care about them and have a solution to help them.

It is also a good idea to go to blogs and leave comments. This is the place where you want to be one of the first comments on the page and be visible. Be sure your comment is pertinent to the blog post. You don’t want to just start spamming blogs. At the end of your comment you can leave your Facebook Page address for them. For example “I love this Facebook Training series you’ve given Lynn. Have you thought of creating a signature in your emails and text messages with your Facebook Page address on them? www.facebook.com/lynnhermanfanpage.

I hope this series has been helpful for you. It is my take on this spectacular webinar titled Get Facebook Famous In 60 days. If you haven’t already done so I highly encourage you to view it ASAP.

Become a Facebook Super Star Part 2 of 3Yesterday, we discussed setting up your Facebook account. Now what kind of content should you put up on your wall?

Step 3 – Your personal profile on Facebook is very relaxed. Talk about your life, hopes, and dreams, provide valuable content such as your blog posts, up coming webinars and training, or posts from other friends pages or blogs that will bring value to your friends and followers. Share pictures of your life or business activities. It is good to have pictures of you and industry leaders. Upload training videos you have created or of events that you have attended. Pictures and videos are good because it brings you to life. It shows you are a real person and not just a lot of words on a screen. Have fun and be real but be conscious of your image at the same time. What you put out to the public is how you will be known whether that is good or bad. You shouldn’t be posting about your products and company all the time. People quickly grow tired of spammers and will block your feed from showing on their walls. Many will just report you to Facebook and after enough spam reports you profile will just be shut down. We practice attraction marketing and spamming is not attractive. You can find more information about attraction marketing here. One cool feature that Facebook has given us is “questions”. This application will allow you to create surveys or pose questions to your friends and followers. It’s a great way to get your fans to interact with you and each other. It is also a great way for you to learn what they want to hear from you. You will want to be sure to keep your page clean and full of value. You don’t want your page to be full of spam messages. When this stuff is posted directly on your wall simply erase it. Although Farmville and Mafia Wars can be fun, Facebook games do not bring value to your followers. Make sure you don’t post these types of messages on your wall. It makes it very difficult for your followers to find value in you and your posts.

Your Facebook Fan Page should be packed full of valuable content. Again you do not want to allow spammers to post onto your wall. Delete the posts quickly and if they remain persistent send them a message to please stop. Explain that this is not the place, that you only allow valuable content to be given to your fan’s. It would be a really good time to teach them the attraction marketing model and help them out a bit. You do want to fill this page with value. Talk about your blog posts as they come available, let your fans know about valuable webinars and upcoming events that they should be attending, uplifting you tube videos and quotes are all good things to post to your followers. You don’t want to be a downer on this page. Keep your posts uplifting and encouraging. Your fan page is not a good place to be controversial or argumentative. Be interactive with your fans. Respond to others posts and comments. Let them know that you are here and hear what they are saying. Social Media is Networking online. You can’t be effective without interactions.

Tomorrow in the third and final segment of this series I will be discussing how to grow your following. If you don’t want to wait till then you can check out the video training on this subject.

Become a Facebook Super Star! Part 1 of 3Facebook is a fun and inexpensive tool to use to grow your business. In fact, using these tips, it’s a totally free source of limitless leads. The key is to build your Facebook presence without your friends blocking your posts or Facebook closing you down. I’m going to share a Four Step process you can use to become a Facebook Super Star!

Step 1 – You must have a fun and compelling personal profile page starting with your profile picture. People don’t care what your company logo looks like or your favorite product. They want to see who you are. Make sure YOUR face is the one on your page.

The more complete your profile is the more real you will come across. Let people get to know who you are. Finally have a call to action in your bio. You can send people to your blog, fan page or even connect with you on twitter.

Step 2 – of Becoming a Facebook Super Star is setting up a rock’n Facebook Fan Page. Once again you are branding yourself as an network marketing leader. Make sure you have a cool picture of your self. One of the cool things with Facebook Pages, is the ability to have a huge picture compared to your other profile pics (200x600px instead of 200x200px). You’ll want to use the full space provided for you and be creative. Again pack the info page full of content. Brand your self as a leader in the industry. Finally you want to have a cool welcome page. Give away some type of free value for liking your page If you are a platinum member of MLSP you have access to Facebook Welcome Pages that are all set up for you and packed full of value. If not you can create your own.  facebook.com/freefanpagetemplates has some cool free template for you to do that with.

Tomorrow we will discuss content or you can get the complete video training here.

Network Marketing Is Like Popcorn! Really?

Movie Night!

Sounds pretty crazy doesn’t it, but there is so much truth in that statement.  My wife finally got the kids in bed and we were getting ready to sit down and watch a movie together and enjoy the peace and quiet.  Of course with a movie you have to have popcorn.  I was so excited.  The popcorn popper was sitting on the burner heating up, the oil was at the perfect temperature, and I finally threw in the seeds.  Then came the waiting game.  Here I am all excited about eating popcorn and watching a movie and nothing was happening other than me standing there cranking the handle.  Suddenly the first kernel popped just when I was wondering “well maybe I didn’t have everything as perfect as I thought”.  I got all excited again, and nothing else happened.  “Well maybe the seeds are bad.  They’re getting a little old” I thought.  “Hopefully this stuff doesn’t just burn away”.  Then all of a sudden the seeds just start blowing up everywhere.  It was like a party in a pan, steam was pouring out, and the smell was out of this world.

Network marketing is exactly the same way.  You join a new network marketing company all excited, dollar signs dancing in front of your eyes, and you learn all you have to know to get started.  Then you start telling everyone you know … and nothing happens.  You start wondering “what didn’t I do right”.  “Maybe I need to do this or that.”  Suddenly you get your first new associate or sell your first product and you’re super excited.  You keep telling everyone you see and … again nothing is happening.

This is were most people just up and quit.  They think “well this wasn’t such a good idea” or “what a scam.  My sponsor promised me all kinds of money” or “danged it.  My only associate just quit.  Nobody else I’ve talked to is going to join so why bother”.  What they don’t realize is in just a few more seconds their prospecting activity is going to start exploding.  The prospects will convert, they’ll be able to have their party, and have the cash flow, it just takes the right amount of time, the right approach, and the right person.  And just like that pan of popcorn seeds you will still have left over unpopped prospects.  The thing to remember about them is it’s not their time.  Have fun with the popped kernels while you can.  I heard an amazing acronym tonight and feel it’s very appropriate for this.  It was for the word FOCUS.

I am entrepreneur, small business coach, and a nurse.  I love being able to rekindle peoples hope and to help them rebuild their faith and dreams.

My wife Shannon and I have three beautiful kids – Kirstien, Zachariah, and Samantha.  We moved to Northern Kentucky form Indiana to pursue my career as a hospice nurse.  When my wife was pregnant with Samantha we quickly found out that child care costs were way more than her teaching salary.  So we started looking for different ways to make some extra money.  After quite a bit of research we decided a home-based business would be best for us and I jumped back into the world of Network Marketing.

Yes I did say “back into”.  Like many other network marketers my first attempt at network marketing was Amway.  I was 18, a senior in high school, and my parents were my sponsors.  As you can imagine my sphere of influence was not great.  I only sponsored one person who was an acquaintance of my dad.  While I didn’t last long there, I did learn a lot.  Most importantly I learned to dream and the seed of entrepreneurism was planted.  Over the years I tried several different companies and products.  Although I did ok at first my businesses would quickly fade, then die when I ran out of friends and family to share with.

The big difference this time was my mentor stressed to me the importance of Personal Development and the importance in becoming a student of Network Marketing.  I was a shy person with low self esteem and pretty introverted.  So after getting kicked around I would just quit.  This time, however, I didn’t quit.  Instead I made the decision to grow myself and increase my knowledge and skills as a network marketer.  I have read multiple books, purchased training courses, watched as many webinars as possible, got on conference calls, and drove thousands of miles to events across the United States.  I have learned as I grow as a person and increase my skills as a network marketer, my business will continue to grow.

That is the purpose of this blog.  It is my outlet to give back to you all the things I have learned and continue to learn, and to share tips and my thoughts on network marketing, entrepreneurship, internet marketing and personal development.  Finally I want to share with you the absolutely amazing system I have discovered, and the tools and resources that I use.  It is my prayer the information you find here will help you and your business grow.

In closing I cannot fail to give my wife Shannon a huge thank you.  Without her I would not be the man I am today.  She has stood by my side throughout all my struggles, encouraging and supporting me.  If have no doubt that she will continue with her support in the future.  Thank You Shannon for being the love of my life.
